B2C e-commerce turnover has been steadily increasing year-on-year and is expected to hit almost €18.5 billion in 2019. Furthermore, the share of the total GDP made up by B2C e-commerce sales continues to increase every year.

E-shopper penetration is high along with e-shopper spending. In terms of online shopping categories, consumer electronics, clothing, household appliances and multimedia (such as movies, music and games) are highly successful, although most categories are showing signs of growth.
