Sweden ranks high in all of the main e-commerce indices, including the Logistical Performance Index, the Ease of Doing Business Index, and the E-Government Development Index. Internet inclusivity is Sweden’s biggest strength, along with internet penetration of the general population.

GDP continues to increase with a steady growth rate above 2%, indicating that the economy is boosting the e-commerce sector, both domestically as well as cross-border.

 

E-commerce Landscape

Unlike many developed e-commerce markets, most Swedish consumers prefer to collect their purchases at pickup locations. They also enjoy receiving their package at home in the evening. With regards to payment methods, it’s forecast that e-invoice payments will increase while payment by cards will decrease.
